Ms. Emily Yandel is a former EPMS Japanese student who came to talk to our students! After she graduated from EPMS, she continued studying Japanese in college, and now she is teaching English at middle/high schools in Japan. She shared her tips on learning Japanese, stories about her students and schools in Japan, and her vast cultural experiences about living in Japan. It is great to see former Titans grow up and coming back to our school to talk to our students! Arigatoo, Emily sensei! We are so lucky that our 8th-grade and some 7th grade Japanese students had a Skype conference with the Japanese video game-Anime entertainment company called LEVEL-5! The company’s main franchise is YoKai Watch, which is now playing on the Netflix and the Disney XD. Check out their website: http://level5abby.com/ Students learned about the company’s history, cultural differences and challenges, impact on the video game industry, marketing, etc. Students got to interact with the staff both in Japanese and in English! Thank you very much Level-5 for taking your busy time for us, and we also appreciate the Consulate General of Japan for arranging this wonderful meeting! It was a beautiful moon on Otsukimi day! Great job for some students who made the Tsukimi dango, and here are some of the photos from the Otsukimi day.
